Everyone give Ron Dees a round of applause for getting a first hole in one yesterday here at Carthage Golf Course!

Ron Dees was playing at Carthage Golf Course yesterday. Stepping up on hole #17 tee box, he found the yardage at 126 yards to the pin, grabbed his 9 iron, and hit his first hole in one of his career!

His witnesses were Richard Hyman, Doug Johnson, and Tim Dossett.

This made for a great day for Ron and it was a great way to end the golf season as we are approaching cold weather.

Congratulations Ron!

Congratulations to John Pottorff for making his first career Hole In One today at Carthage Golf Course!

John was playing with his normal group consisting of Rob Ward, Karl Moorhead, Randy Haas, and Bob Hamm when they all witnessed John’s ball go in the hole.

On hole #3, playing 108 yards, John hit his 56 degree the perfect distance and direction to make a memory that will last forever.

Hole in One’s are rare so if you see John around the course be sure to congratulate him on this awesome achievement!

We are excited to have everyone out at Carthage Golf Course tomorrow to wrap up this weekend’s tournament!

For those of you who don’t know, a creative artist by the name of Joe has been carving a tree by #1’s green in the previous weeks.

He recently finished and it looks fantastic! Joe did a great job on this bear, as well as the eagle that was carved out on the back nine about 12 years ago.

Joe has a passion for carving wood, and being creative in his own mind making things. At 78 years old and 25 years in the business, he continues his passion and we are blessed to see him come out here for a second time and create something so great!

Thank you Joe for another great eye catcher here at Carthage Golf Course. We appreciate your great work!

We finished up our season with our Carthage Football Fundraiser Tournament!

It was a great turnout and it was great to see everyone out to support the Carthage Football Program!

Congratulations to Taylor Griffith, Dustin Johnson, Tug Baker, and John Goodman for shooting the low round today with a -21, 50!

You can view the full leaderboard, Closest to the Pin Contests, and Long Drive Contests HERE!

Thank you to everyone who came out today to support Carthage Football, we hope you had a great time!

It was a tight race for the championship title, take a look yourself by clicking HERE and seeing all the close scores!

The Net Championship was our last CMGA event of the year. We hope everyone enjoyed this years CMGA events and we want to see everyone out next year competing and enjoying the game of golf!

That’s a wrap for this years High School Girls Golf Season!

Carthage Girls Hailey Bryant, Rylee Scott, and Caitlin Derryberry finished their season in the past two days playing in the State Championship at Twin Hills.

It was tough conditions being very cold and wet, but they stayed strong throughout the two days and all did well. Hailey said that her ultimate goal was to make all-state this year, and she did just that! Hailey Bryant shot 87 in round 1 and 82 in round 2 to finish 8th place, achieving her goal to make top 10.

Rylee Scott tied for 34th shooting a 92 in round 1 and a 99 in round 2. The last Carthage golfer was Caitlin Derryberry who shot 115 in round 1 and 101 in round 2, placing 59th.

Hailey, Rylee, and Caitlin all worked very hard this season to make it to State, and that is an achievement itself. The coaches are very proud of all three golfers and anyone who see’s them out on the course should tell them congratulations on a successful year!
